CitrixNetScaler - Comprehensive application acceleration, load balancer, and web security
Citrix® NetScaler® is an integrated Web application delivery controller that functions as an application accelerator through caching and HTTP compression, and provides advanced traffic management through Layer 4-7 load balancing and content switching functions. NetScaler also includes application security via a Web application firewall, including PCI-DSS security mandate protection, and SSL VPN. NetScaler further off loads application and Web servers to ensure application availability, increased security through SSL, and server consolidation. It reduces the TCO of Web application delivery, optimizes the user experience and makes applications run five times better. NetScaler’s parallel processing nCore™ technology leverages multi-core processors to provide unprecedented performance and scalability for even the most challenging Web applications. NetScaler appliances are available in three editions running on a wide ranging array of dedicated MPX-series hardware platforms or as server-based virtual appliances with NetScaler VPX for any throughput need-from 10 Mbps through 18 Gbps.
Deployed in front of Web servers, NetScaler application delivery controller models combine high-speed traffic management via load balancer and content switching with application acceleration, content caching, SSL acceleration, Web application firewall, network optimization and application performance monitoring in a single built-for-purpose hardware platform. Unlike other approaches that require multiple point products, NetScaler is an all-in-one application accelerator appliance that is easy to deploy, configure, and operate with AppExpert Visual Policy Builder GUI-based tools, AppExpert Templates, and multiple wizards.
All the extensive application delivery functionality of NetScaler can now be obtained in a virtual appliance. NetScaler VPX provides load balancing, application acceleration, security and server offload to become virtual appliance server-based services that can be easily and dynamically deployed; on-demand and anywhere in the datacenter.
Reduce TCO with an all-in-one appliance that takes the load off of over-burdened networks. By offloading servers from things they don’t do well, such as HTTP compression, caching, SSL encryption/decryption, and repetitive network processing functions, NetScaler provides server consolidation to save on server costs by up to 80 percent. When combined with in-memory caching that delivers dynamic content directly, Citrix NetScaler application accelerators delivers more applications to more users with a dramatic reduction in servers and network devices. It also allows you to deploy new Web 2.0 applications without massive infrastructure changes.

About Citrix
Centralization, optimization and virtualization have been the focus of Citrix product innovation, strategic acquisitions, go-to-market partnerships, and talent development for over twenty years. It’s why Citrix remain fundamentally committed to their vision – a world where anyone can work and play from anywhere.
To turn this vision into reality, IT must evolve from the traditional distributed computing model that is collapsing under the weight of its own complexity and adopt a dramatically simpler, service-oriented model – that is flexible and supports user choice, agility and growth.
The Citrix family of products and services centralize, virtualize and minimize the complexity of traditional computing – significantly reducing costs, improving information security, mobilizing people, and delivering enterprise agility. Their belief in the power of simplicity becomes more market-relevant every day and is the basis for how Citrix will continue to drive long-term value for shareholders, employees, customers and partners.
Citrix customers include the world’s largest Internet companies, 99 percent of Fortune Global 500 enterprises, and hundreds of thousands of small businesses and prosumers worldwide. Citrix partners with over 10,000 companies worldwide in more than 100 countries. Founded in 1989, annual revenue in 2008 was $1.6 billion.
